Why I Am Proud to Call Texas My Home

Why I Am Proud to Call Texas My Home

It really doesn’t matter where you live, you have the chance to be happy with your surroundings. Many people say that home is where you hang your hat and, although that may be true, there are many reasons why I choose to hang my hat in Texas. In fact, once you hear why I choose to do so, you might just decide that it is the right choice for you as well.

First of all, I live in a fairly small community but it is on the outskirts of Dallas. Most people either refer to this area as the Dallas, Fort Worth area or the Dallas Metroplex. Regardless of what you call it, there are so many things to see and do on the inside of the city that you will never run out of options. Even if you live in an outlying community, you can take advantage of what the city has to offer.

It would be enough to stay in my small area in Texas, and most people find that it really isn’t necessary to explore the countryside. For me, however, there is nothing quite like going out and enjoying a vacation from time to time. The benefit of living in Texas is that there are so many places to go and the state is so big, it really isn’t necessary to travel to another location. You can enjoy more and more as you look at the options.

One of the things I love to do is to go to one of the historic locations located throughout the state. The more you learn about the history of an area, the more you will appreciate it. Perhaps the most popular location is the area of the Alamo. Admittedly, it isn’t much to look at when you are standing in front of it but the history and surrounding area have a lot to offer.

The bottom line is, I love the state of Texas and I couldn’t imagine living somewhere else. Even though I have seen many parts of the world over the years, I knew once I entered into Texas that I had finally found my home. It isn’t only where I happen to reside, it is where I choose to hang my had and I can’t imagine it being any other way. If you make the choice to move, you might just feel like I do.
